Smt. Sandhya Kandadai Rajagopal
Smt Sandhya Kandadai Rajagopal is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and founder of Bhargavi Bharatha Natyalaya, a dance school in Bothell and Sammamish, Washington. She has more than twenty years of experience in Bharatanatyam. She was fortunate enough to be trained under esteemed gurus. She feels very blessed to have come under the guidance of her Guru “Nadanamaamani” Dr. Janaki Rangarajan who is a senior disciple of “Padma Bhushan” Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. She has performed on many prestigious sabhas including the Telugu Doordarshan. Her school has won two first prize titles in a National Dance Competition for the Junior Classical and Junior Semi Classical categories. Her students have actively participated in major cultural events conducted by many local temples in WA, International NorthWest FolkLife Festival, Anandamela, Kalanjali, etc. She has also conducted multiple productions such as Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum, Srinivasa Punaravataram, Maathru Gunasaaram, Raghava Madhava and Maalai Kondu Maalai Aanda. Her most recent production, Vande Varavaramunim, just released its first part a few months ago.
